Eco Manglares La Boquilla is an ethno-tourism and ecotourism tour through the mangroves of the Ciénaga de la Virgen. Native fishermen from the community run it, guide it, show their daily work on the water and explain the ancestral culture of the village.
The route crosses three mangrove tunnels, named love, happiness and bliss, and ends at the fisherman's island. Along the way you plant mangrove seedlings, assemble fishing gear and crab traps, and join a fishing session in Juan Polo's lagoon.
Then the crabs are cooked in garlic and lunch is served at Punta Icacos, right on the beach: fried mojarra or sierra medallions, coconut rice, patacones and mixed salad. The Full Caribbean Day plan runs about 7 hours 30 minutes and needs at least two people.
